Prior to launching The Shrub and Shutter, the owners Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza started Salts of The Earth. A drinks consultancy business, helping bars and restaurants curate their own specialised drinks menu. It’s this that inspired The Shrub and Shutter. Safe to say that the cocktail menu is one of a kind. That’s while Chris and Dave are the helm anyway.
Less than a 10 minute walk from Brixton Station and you’ll find this little gem sitting on Coldharbour lane. Its different to most cocktail bars. The moment you step inside you feel the intimacy of the place. Center stage is the quirky bar that feels more like a family kitchen with a great drink selection. As you can imagine, all cocktails have been carefully thought out with a superb food menu to compliment it – if you fancy something lighter you needn’t walk far as there is good selection of craft ales and cider also.
